RIYADH: The Saudi Cabinet praised Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Tuesday for his three-stage Asian tour, including visits to Pakistan, India and China.

The Cabinet, chaired by King Salman, particularly welcomed the outcome of the Pakistan leg of the trip, during which deals worth $20 billion were signed by the two nations.

It added that it was looking forward to the outcome of the visit to New Delhi, where the crown prince will meet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, following news that the Kingdom has reached an accord with the Indian National Productivity Council to cooperate on energy efficiency.

At the meeting at Al-Yamamah Palace, the Cabinet also welcomed the outcome of the Warsaw meeting on peace and security in the Middle East, approved a joint statement with the UK and UAE on finding a political solution to the Yemeni crisis, and approved requests from the Saudi Shoura Council to sign memoranda of understanding with the governments of Lithuania and Zambia.

The Cabinet also approved 6 further memoranda with the UAE on the environment, water and agriculture, youth, housing and logistics, infrastructure, financial markets and customs.

Meanwhile, an article to penal procedures stating that a psychologist should be present during the questioning of people accused of domestic violence was also agreed.
